Beach Boudoir Photography at Sunrise in Tampa

Howard Park Park Photography Session

To say I’m excited to share these is a total understatement. Outdoor boudoir sessions at the the beach is a dream come true and adding a dreamy sunrise takes it to the next level. While visiting family in Tampa, I decided I wanted to also photograph a beach boudoir session or two. Eliza and I connected through Instagram and immediately began planning her boudoir session at the beach. Unfortunately for me, I decided to plan my trip to Tampa during spring break. This was completely a coincidence, but nevertheless meant I’d have to plan for crowds. Thus, I decided it would be best to have our beach boudoir photoshoot at sunrise.

This was not the first time I woke up for a sunrise session. In fact, I prefer sunrise for outdoor boudoir sessions in order to have more privacy and the light is hard to beat. Not only did I not plan for spring break in Florida, but I also did not expect a record cold front to move through. I’ve been visiting the Tampa area my entire life and I’ve never experienced a spring day in the 40s. This was not something Eliza or I had planned for, but we stuck it out nonetheless. By taking many breaks from the ocean wind and using vintage robes for extra coverage, Eliza killed it.

Packing for my trip to Tampa was quite a challenge for me. I wanted to bring everything, but knew I’d had have to pack with versatility and weight in mind. Therefore, I decided on some vintage nightgowns, robes, and a few lingerie pieces. Eliza and I began with a beautiful sheer nightgown I thrifted last year, but have yet to use. The colors were absolutely perfect for a boudoir session at the beach. Of course, I couldn’t come to Florida without some elf ears, so we also took some fantasy boudoir shots.

We then transitioned to a yellow set Eliza brought along with a floral embroidered veil. I love the way veils add movement and texture to lingerie sets, especially in nature. Not only did I bring the embroidered veil, but I also brought a gorgeous bridal cape along with flower straps. To say that this elevated these shots is an understatement. In the end, we decided on a pink satin set I brought along which I thought gave the perfect amount of mermaid vibes. Paired with a vintage hand mirror, I think this set was the perfect way to end this beach boudoir photoshoot.
