What Were the Three Looks in This Tattoo Artist Branding Photography Shoot?

Look One: Green Vintage Nightgown and Forest Fairy Wings

The first look paired a forest green vintage nightgown set, both pulled from my client closet, and a set of large double layered fairy wings from Wings and Flower Design. The wings caught the warm lantern light behind Willow beautifully, and you can see every vein detail glowing through the fabric in the final gallery. I added a draped pearl headpiece with small butterfly clips and leaf accents woven into Willow’s seafoam blue hair, plus a glass orb prop she held up to catch the light. Her septum ring and lip piercing stayed visible through the whole look.

Look Two: Mint Green Vintage Nightgown with Floral Bridal Cape and Pearl Accessories

For the second look, Willow changed into a mint toned vintage nightgown, another client closet piece chosen to match her mint colored hair almost exactly. I added long strands of pearls, butterfly hair clips, and a flower bridal cape that attaches at the arms and pools behind her like a train.

I set this look at an ornate vintage vanity mirror, framed with a floral garland and a pair of pomegranates woven through it, almost like an illustration out of an old fairy tale book. Candlelight and a single warm lamp did most of the lighting work. Willow’s makeup shifted here too, a soft gold and green shimmer on the eyes with a deep berry lip.

Look Three: Sheer Mesh Dress with Chainmail Top

The final look was styled to create a “lady knight” inspired look. Willow stepped into a sheer black mesh dress from Reformation from my client closet, paired with a dark tiara and a prop sword with an ornate silver hilt. She brought her own chainmail top for this one, cropped with dramatic dolman sleeves, and it instantly became the centerpiece of the whole look.

I photographed the sword with a light effect that made the blade glow, which gave the final images a weight closer to a painting than a photograph.
