Dallas Plus-Size Boudoir Photography Session
Body Positive Boudoir Photos
My boudoir photography brand is centered around body positivity and self love. I am a firm believer in loving yourself where you are and that all bodies are works of art. Eboni and I spoke in the past about working together, but because of the pandemic and other factors, we had to postpone. This year I am happy to say we finally had a chance to work together and I am so excited to share her beautiful images.
Plus-Size Boudoir Poses and Inspiration
You might be surprised to hear that I pose all my clients in the same general posing, regardless of size. I know there is a lot of rhetoric about “how to pose in a curvy body”, but that question alone insists our goal to always look as small as possible. Although I pose all my clients in ways that are complimentary to their features, I do not pose my clients with looking a certain size in mind.
Our society perpetuates body dysmorphia and unhealthy body standards, I refuse to be a part of that. As a boudoir photographer, it is my passion to be a part of the body positive movement. I want all humans who are photographed by me to feel like the work of art they are.
Painterly Boudoir Styling
When creating a painterly mood for my boudoir sessions, I have several things I focus on. First, I focus on my lighting. I currently use a combo of window light and my Amaran light. Typically, I create a variation of shadow heavy and airy images to create a very dreamy look. Second, I use a soft focus filter on my camera lens to create a dreamy effect. Currently, I use a simple UV filter with some Vaseline which does the trick.
Lastly, texture is so important. I love using different fabrics as part of wardrobe and as part of the setting. Using props like fruit, florals, and mirrors also bring a of painting-like textures and styling. Oftentimes I will opt to using fabrics instead of traditional lingerie as wardrobe. Although lingerie is beautiful, there is something so ethereal about flowy, sheer fabrics draped on the body. Additionally, spraying water onto silk-like fabrics creates a beautiful effect. Using this technique with Eboni’s photos turned out beautiful with her curves.
Boudoir Photography Client Review
“I had such a wonderful experience with Heather at Royal Lune. The studio it’s self is immaculate, and well themed. It was easy to find. She made me feel like an absolute goddess and the pictures came out beautifully. If you’re trying to make an impression or boost your confidence, I highly recommend shooting here.” – Eboni
