Moody Dallas photography studio with moss wall installation
I am happy to announce the opening of Royal Lune Studio, a Dallas boudoir photography studio. Available for both my photography clients and other photographers, Royal Lune Studio is an unique space and experience. Enter into an indoor Eden featuring a giant moss wall installation, fine art textured walls, and renaissance-style details throughout. Royal Lune Studio was dreamed, created, and executed by myself, Royal Lune Photo. I hope you enjoy this gorgeous space as much as I do.
DIY Moss Wall Installation
When I first secured my studio space, I knew I wanted to bring the outdoors inside. As a Dallas boudoir photographer who specializes in outdoor sessions, I knew I needed to bring that into my studio space. Always loving the textures of moss, I decided to take on the challenge of creating an 8 foot by 8 foot moss installation. Between ordering over 10 pounds of moss, foraging for branches, and countless trips to the craft store, this moss wall was a lot of work. In the end, all the hard work was worth it as it truly adds so much beauty to Royal Lune Studio.
Inspired by the Renaissance
If you have seen my work then you know how much paintings inspire my work. Between the color palettes, poses, and details, my work is deeply inspired by the Renaissance and Pre-Raphaelite art. Therefore, I wanted to create a photography studio that felt like you entered into a painting yourself. I began with painting the studio olive green with a faux lime wash texture. Not only did this create warmth and richness to the space, but it meant all my walls would look like fine art backdrops. After painting the space, I added brown rugs and furnished it with antiques from thrift stores and estate sales. I absolutely love how the space turned out and I know my clients will love this moody boudoir studio.
How to Rent the Space
Currently, I am not renting the space to other photographers and creatives. My intention, however, is to have the boudoir studio open this fall for Dallas photographers to be able to rent by the hour. I will update this blog and my website when Royal Lune Photo is open for rentals, so check back soon!
