What to Wear to an Outdoor Boudoir Session

Bonnie and I have been trying to work together for a while and we finally got the chance. To my dismay, she recently moved to NYC so working together became a lot harder. The stars aligned, however, and we were finally able to meet up here in Dallas. Upon arriving on location, I noticed these adorable fuzzy flowers. Bonnie wasn’t able t0 bring anything for wardrobe due to traveling so I brought a few pieces along. This lilac lingerie dress was the perfect piece to start off with. Outdoor boudoir can be a challenge in many ways, including what to wear. I usually opt for flowy and dreamy fabrics as I believe they translate really well in nature. Using the fuzzy flowers for texture and shadows for an artistic twist, the first lingerie set was a major success.

Some other outdoor boudoir lingerie ideas are tulle maxi skirts. I found mine for a very affordable price on eBay and I use them all the time for outdoor boudoir sessions. Bonnie and I decided to use flowers as a bra along with the black tulle skirt. I think these implied outdoor boudoir shots are gorgeous and I love how dreamy they are. Moreover, these skirts are also made to fit the majority of all body types, which is perfect for my client closet!

Another outdoor boudoir outfit idea is your birthday suit. I am a firm believer that nude is often times better and I will die on that hill. Bonnie and I happened upon a dried creek bed, covered in leaves and perfect for some laying down shots. Without hesitation, Bonnie jumped in the leaves, leaving her clothes behind. Using the leaves as lingerie, Bonnie transformed into a gorgeous forest nymph. Using what nature provides as a look is a signature of mine and I love the results every time.

Lastly, you cannot go wrong with flowy robes, especially vintage. I always bring a few robes with me to outdoor boudoir sessions as they provide some modesty when needed, look amazing with most lingerie sets, and can be an outfit all on their own. Furthermore, the robe Bonnie wore in the forest was thrifted by me from Goodwill. It is a true vintage piece and I love it so much. I highly recommend thrifting at local second hand shops and online. You never know what treasures you may find!

Ultimately, I recommend my clients wear whatever makes them feel their best. Whether that’s going totally nude or wearing a long sleeve bodysuit, your confidence is what matters to me the most.
