Maternity photography is one of my favorite genres to photograph. Honestly, what is more ethereal than creating a new human? Naturally, I was super excited when Star reached out to me about a Dallas maternity photography session. She’s not only gorgeous, but a total natural in front of the camera. Prior to her session, she had her hair and make-up done by Jane Johnson who did an incredible job. In addition, a fellow photographer brought this dreamy maternity gown. This maternity gown was absolutely gorgeous to photograph and I will definitely be adding one similar to my client closet in the future.

As a maternity photographer in Dallas, finding locations for sessions is very important to me. Arbor Hills is a perfect outdoor location for maternity photos as it is very walkable and gorgeous. An additional outdoor location is Katie’s Woods Park for those clients looking for a gorgeous lake location. I photograph clients there regularly and have photographed maternity sessions there as well. For a studio location, I highly recommend The Ruscus Studio and Oakstreet Studio. The Ruscus Studio is owned by a florist and is covered in floral arrangements. Couture maternity gowns are also available for rent through this studio so I highly recommend it for maternity sessions. In addition, Oakstreet Studio in Denton is perfect for those looking for a boudoir type session. Between the lovely exposed brick, airy floor to ceiling windows, and minimalistic bedroom furniture, it’s the perfect boudoir studio for those expecting.
