Healing with Boudoir Photography

Chad is a repeat client who enjoys the healing aspects boudoir photography brings. When he first contacted me for a Dallas male boudoir photo session, I was so happy to work with him. I could tell his biggest desire was to see himself in a better light and to heal from past hurts. In our current society, toxic masculinity is everywhere at the expense of both men and women. The notion than men have to be “strong” and not share their feelings or desire to feel beautiful has hurt so many beautiful souls. My boudoir style is soft and artistic, perfect for bringing out the natural beauty of all my subjects, including male boudoir photography. When it comes to art, gender, size, race, and age are irrelevant. Everyone deserves to feel beautiful, whatever that means for them personally. I am so happy I was able to provide that for Chad through his Dallas male boudoir photography session. Since this session at Stem and Light Studio, he has had 3 or more sessions. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the joy art can bring to someone’s life.

Boudoir Photography Experience

Did your boudoir session change your view of your body, sexuality, etc.?

Absolutely. When I was a child, who had parents were told they never have another, relatives get mad it was ok for me to be born and their told them to slow down. Youth minister improper touching, name calling, sister who doesn’t care. Dad verbal abuse. Life felt like I was nothing more than a dog. Now I see me as a strong person and not worried what religious people, sister, relatives think. I may not be Hollywood for some, however, I matter.

What was your favorite part about the boudoir experience?

Letting my hair down feeling and having fun. Was I comfortable, YES. Was I pressured to do certain shots, NO! Heather told an amazing story of her heartbreak after her mom died which I connected with as my mom recently passed away as well. This made me feel safe and was a very healing experience.

Would you recommend Heather for boudoir photography? Why or why not?

Yes, absolutely. 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I would say yes from the tallest mountain. Simply, Heather listens and truly understands. She is a master potter and her clients are the clay. You can trust her. Excited for the next shoot and many more.
