I have always wanted to photograph someone in a parking garage. Whether it’s the directional light, grungy corners, or roof top scenes, I just love parking garages for photos. Alyssa is a gymnast and a Dallas boudoir model. I was really excited to collaborate with her for this vision I had.
The parking garage I chose for this Dallas boudoir session was in a residential area and was empty after 5pm. I wanted to find a spot that was pretty private, but also had good directional light. Alyssa brought several outfits and I love how each one matches the tone of location. The first set we went with was a sexy lace bodysuit. I love the way it translates against the grungy bottom floor, full of overhead light and stairwells. Honestly, this parking garage mirrored some of my favorite Dallas studios like The Dark Room. I was very impressed by the results that this location gave us. I also brought along my video light so I could take some colored shots. I love using red light in my boudoir sessions and I’m so happy with the way these turned out!
After we felt satisfied with what we had captured so far, Alyssa and I headed for the rooftop of the garage. The sun was slowly setting which gave us a gorgeous pale blue sky. As stated previously, Alyssa is a gymnast. When she suggested some posed on the ledge of the building, you can believe I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. She assured me, however, that there was nothing to worry about. With her reassurance that she could do some posing on the ledge, we took some of my favorite outdoor boudoir shots to date!
