I have always wanted to photograph and entire session in black and white. When Lauren and I decided to do her bridal portraits completely in black and white I was of course so excited. This old house was the perfect spot for her Denton vintage bridal portraits. The feeling of nostalgia that black and white photography gives is so beautiful. Making photos look like film is such an important part of my style and black and white matches this desire. Not only was Denton the perfect location for her bridal portraits, but the thrifted dress she wore was stunning on her.
In order to achieve a film look for her vintage bridal portraits, I decided to use a filter with a soft focus affect. In editing I decided to go with heavy grain, haze, and lifted blacks. I believe these elements really compare to old film photos, which I adore. Although I primarily photograph boudoir, I love photographing portraits like bridals.
