I’m really lucky to have Lauren as a sister in law. She’s a free spirit, always chasing her dreams and never allowing others to control her. Not only is she stunning, she is a beautiful soul. She recently moved to Fort Worth from Atlanta for a tattoo apprenticeship at Black Rose Studio in Mansfield. She loves to sketch and draw realistic portraits and hopes to make that her focus in her career as a tattoo artist. I love working with fellow artist to create something together. Even though she isn’t my sister by blood, I always call her my sister. I only have brothers, and being able to say I have a sister has been very rewarding to me. When she moved a few months ago, I immediately knew the two of us would need to do photo-shoots together. I’m sure you will see a lot of Lauren around my blog, experimenting with darker and more surreal themes. She also has a dog named Piper, and you can bet there will be a blog of the two of them in the near future.

I was inspired to do this shoot by all of the wildflowers Texas has to offer. Music by Sigur Ros set our mood as we shot in the evening light. Dusk is my favorite time of day, with its dusty and enchanting atmosphere. With blooms and moths to accompany us, there was no better time to photograph such a captivating scene.
